What's new

Improved: Save and Continue buttons across your seller pages now say Saving... and lock while they work, so a second click can't send it twice. If a save fails, the page tells you what went wrong instead of saying it saved.

Improved: The tier form on your pack page is laid out in one clear order, has an Add a tier heading, and only shows the skill picker when the tier covers one skill.

Improved: Pages fit a phone screen, tab bars and tables show when there's more to scroll, and the help articles have an index at Help.

Fixed: Various fixes.

What you need to do: Sellers, three steps, in this order. First, accept the new seller terms at your next sign-in: how to accept them. Second, connect your own Stripe account from step 3 of your checklist: how to connect it. Third, turn on Stripe Tax in your Stripe dashboard and add your head office and registrations, so sales tax is collected: how to set it up. Until you do the third step, no tax is collected.

New: Buyers now pay you, on your own Stripe account, with the full Stripe dashboard behind it. We take 10% of each payment as our fee, before tax and after any discount code. Stripe's processing fee is yours. There are no payouts from ProvenSkills and no balance we hold. Stripe pays out to your bank on your account's schedule.

New: Refunds and disputes run on your Stripe account. Our fee on a refunded payment is not returned. Your Revenue page shows each sale, refund and dispute with our fee.

New: A help page on setting up Stripe Tax on your own account, linked from the footer.

Improved: The checkout page names the seller the buyer is paying. The pricing page has a new worked example that includes Stripe's fee.

Improved: Pressing Send code twice no longer sends two codes. After a code goes out, the sign-in page shows how long until you can ask for another and tells you to use the code in the newest email. If a code has expired, it says so in plain words.

Improved: The pricing, how it works and for experts pages, the support page and the comparison article now describe how selling works today: buyers pay ProvenSkills, your share is sent every other Monday for payments at least a week old, refunds and disputes come out of your share, and the card and billing costs are ours. The worked example on the pricing page keeps $270 of a $300 tier.

New: Sign up for a shop by ticking one box that accepts the seller terms and the privacy policy. The form links to both, and we record which version you accepted and when.

New: When we publish a new version of either document, your next visit to the dashboard takes you to the checklist with one box to tick. Your shop keeps selling in the meantime.

New: Three help pages for sellers, linked from the footer: how to accept the updated seller terms, how to connect a payout account to get paid, and how to make a discount code for your packs, with what your buyers see from checkout to the first renewal.

Improved: Discount codes can be made before your first sale. Promotions now sets up your packs with our payment provider on the spot, so Create code works on a new shop.

New: Offer a free trial on any paid tier. Set the days on the tier from your pack page, up to 90. Buyers start with a card on file, pay nothing until the trial ends, and then the plan renews as usual. How it works

What you need to do: Sellers, connect your payout account from the checklist on your dashboard. You can sell before it is done. Your balance waits for it.

New: Buyers pay ProvenSkills for every subscription, and ProvenSkills sends each seller their share of each payment, every other Monday, for payments at least a week old. The share is on the pricing page. The Revenue page shows every sale, refund, dispute and payout line by line.

New: Sellers refund a charge from the Revenue page. Refunds and disputes come out of the seller's share.
