How to accept the updated seller terms

The seller terms changed because you now sell through your own Stripe account. The next time you sign in, your dashboard opens on the checklist with one box to tick. This page says what changed and what the box does. Your shop keeps selling in the meantime.

Updated

What changed

The big change is who the buyer pays. You are the merchant now. Your subscribers pay you, on your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on your account's schedule. We take 10% of each payment as our fee, before tax and after any discount code. Stripe's processing fee is yours. There are no payouts from us and no balance we hold. The numbers are on the pricing page.

Refunds and disputes happen on your Stripe account. When you refund a payment, our fee on it is not returned. A dispute runs under Stripe's rules, and Stripe's dispute fee is charged to your account. Your prices stay the same. Sales tax is yours to handle through Stripe Tax on your account, and until you turn it on and add registrations, no tax is collected. Here is how to set it up.

The terms also say to manage your subscriptions in ProvenSkills, not in your Stripe dashboard, because a change there can remove our fee. The rest is housekeeping: a license from you to us so we can host and serve your packs, how to leave, and what we keep for how long. The full text is at provenskills.ai/seller-terms and provenskills.ai/privacy.

How to accept the new version

  1. Sign in at app.provenskills.ai. Instead of the dashboard you land on the checklist.
  2. Step 1 is "Accept the seller terms and privacy policy". It names the version and links to it. Read it there.
  3. Tick the box. It says you have read the seller terms and the privacy policy and accept them on behalf of your business.
  4. Press Accept. The checklist says "Policies accepted" and step 1 shows the version you accepted. Every other page opens again.

We record the version, the time, the IP address and the browser. That record is what makes the acceptance count, so one person who can sign for the business should do it.

Does my shop keep selling in the meantime?

Yes. Your storefront stays up and buyers can subscribe while the box is unticked. Your seller pages, Promotions included, open again once you accept.

What comes next

Once the terms are accepted, the checklist's next step is your Stripe account. How to connect your Stripe account to sell walks through it. If you want to give people a free first month, see how to make a discount code. Your packs stay listed on the marketplace throughout.
